Another palace for those who travel the trail of castles, palaces and surrounding buildings. The Schaffgotsch family palace in Cieplice-Zdrój is located in the center of the spa, between Piastowski Square and Spa Park. The monumental residence was built in 1784 and 1788 for Prince Johann Nepomuk Schaffgotsch, on the site of the Renaissance Schaffgotsch manor and guest house.
It was created using the relics of both buildings that remained after the fire in 1777. The building represents the mature baroque style combined with early classicist forms. The author of the project is Johann Georg Rudolf. Near the palace there is a carefully maintained, beautiful, stylish English park.
Currently, the Schaffgotsch Palace houses a branch of the Wrocław University of Science and Technology, so visiting the interior is not possible. However, if you are traveling with children or family, it may be worth paying attention to this monument.
