Ścięgny is a small town located in the Skałka Valley, between Kowary and Karpacz. It's a place rich in history and unique in its atmosphere, enchanting both with its proximity to the mountains and its local attractions. Although today it serves primarily as a tourist and recreational destination, it has retained its traditional, rural character.

The proximity of Karpacz makes Ścięgny an excellent base for both mountain hiking enthusiasts and those who value a quiet getaway.

On the one hand, the town offers silence and intimate atmosphere of the villageand on the other hand, quick access to tourist trails leading to, among others, Śnieżka and Skalny Stół. In a few minutes you can reach the center of Karpacz - a city full of attractions, restaurants, and entertainment. All of this makes Ścięgny an exceptionally attractive location for tourists.

Western City

The first records of settlement in this area date back to the early 14th century. In the 18th century, Ścięgny was a thriving metallurgical and blacksmithing center, which eventually became agricultural. After World War II, the town was briefly called Kamionka, and from 1946, the form "Ściegny" was used.

In 2017, the name was reinstated, consistent with the tradition of the local residents – Ścięgny. The village boasts the parish church of St. Joseph the Worker, built and consecrated in 1983.
