Szklarska-Poręba bicycle routes

The Karkonosze Mountains and the Jizera Mountains are excellent, proven arenas for mountain biking. You can choose from loops of several dozen kilometers, as well as routes of up to 10 km - on asphalt roads, forest and field gravel paths and stone paths.

Intensive work on the cycling side of the region began in 2001, when 278.3 km of 12 dedicated trails were marked out. The routes vary in many key ways. The scale of difficulties - referring more to the effort put into overcoming them than to possible dangers lurking along the way - ranges from 1 to 5 (on a five-point scale). Some of them lead through areas on the Czech side of the border.

Currently, around Szklarska Poręba, Piechowice, Świeradów-Zdrój and Stara Kamienica there are marked and numbered 19 bicycle routes with a total length of over 450 kilometers:

  1. Mała Szklarska Pętla (13 km),
  2. Cogeneration Route (58 km),
  3. Large Szklarska Loop - Radio Three Route (25 km),
  4. Three Districts Connector (9 km),
  5. Karkonoski Expres Pod Reglami - Zdrowa Trasa Vitaralu (19 km),
  6. Trzy Jawory Loop (8 km),
  7. Two Rivers Loop (31 km),
  8. At the Foot of the High Ridge (35 km),
  9. Horse Trail - Route of the Jizera Society (18.5 km),
  10. Jizera Loop - Interferii Route (48 km),
  11. Kamienna Loop - Gazeta Wyborcza Route (13.5 km),
  12. Artistic (12 km),
  13. Jizera Loop (41 km),
  14. Lang Team (5.9 km),
  15. Around Kwisy (28 km),
  16. Large Loop of Stara Kamienica (40 km),
  17. Smaller Kamienicka Loop (23.5 km),
  18. Piechowice I (15 km),
  19. Piechowice II (10 km).

The above-mentioned routes are primarily loops that serve mainly to explore the attractions of the region. And there are also national and international routes connecting individual towns and areas of the continent. How to distinguish classes of bicycle trails from each other? After painting the markings. Regional routes have the silhouette of a cyclist and the corresponding number, national routes have the symbol of the bicycle itself and a black outline of the sign, while European routes are green and with the name ER.

Of course, there are plenty of rental companies and service points in the area, where experts will properly prepare your bike for the challenges ahead.
