If you like looking at palaces, be sure to visit the one in Mi艂k贸w. Mi艂k贸w is a large chain village that stretches along the M艂yn贸wka stream. It is one of the oldest villages in the Karkonosze Mountains.
The palace in Mi艂k贸w was built in the second half of the 17th century. After a fire in 1768, the building was rebuilt by the then owner, Count von Lodron. The classicist design of the fa莽ade and the creation of the surrounding park should be attributed to him. Further changes were introduced in the 19th century, but they only affected the layout and internal decoration introduced by the then owners, the Matuschka family.
The palace is an impressive, two-story structure with a horseshoe plan. The building is covered with lofty mansard roofs, with prominent chimneys and dormers. The facade is regular and symmetrical. The main entrance was placed on an axis and framed by a columned portal with a coat of arms cartouche above it. The interiors have retained the spatial layout from the time of the last reconstruction. On the ground floor, the main rooms have groin vaults. Near the palace there are farm buildings surrounded by a vast landscaped park.
