The Toy Museum was created in 1995 by Henryk Tomaszewski, the creator of the Wrocław Mime Theater.
The toys shown in the display cases were designed and hand-painted by a famous Krakow set designer, who was also the author of the sets for many of Tomaszewski's performances - Kazimierz Wiśniak. Each shelf of the display case has been painted, creating a fairy-tale scenery in which dolls live and play real-life scenes. For example, we can see a living room with plush armchairs, a piano, a kitchen full of pots and plates, a bathroom with a porcelain bathtub with taps, soap, and towels.
We watch the nanny sitting on the bench, the baby in the stroller, even the underwear drying in the garden, attached with tiny wooden clothespins. There are Japanese wanderers and the imperial couple. Everyone will find something for themselves.
