Holidays in Świeradów-Zdrój? Discover the history of the spa

Świeradów-Zdrój is a charming town located in the Jizera Mountains, which is one of three health resorts in Poland (apart from Czerniawa-Zdrój and Lądek-Zdrój). The settlement of "Flyns" was probably founded in the 13th or 14th century, and the first mention of today's Świeradów comes from 1524, when a local inn was built here.

Shortly afterwards, a Berlin doctor - Leonard Thurneysser - described the properties of the local waters, which he called miraculous springs. This event is associated with the famous legend of the Świeradów frog, which has since become its main hallmark.

The city's spa activities have been ongoing for over 250 years! This is due to natural resources such as:

  • resources of healing mineral waters,
  • mud,
  • radon,
  • spruce.

Therefore, the entire history and traditions of the city are associated with healing springs. An interesting fact is that in terms of quality they are compared to medicinal waters in foreign SPA resorts in Belgium and Hungary.
