Wysoki Kamie艅 shelter

In the Jizera Mountains, in a picturesque area, there is a large hill called聽High Stone, reaching a height of 1,058 m above sea level and constituting an excellent viewpoint and an attractive destination for the expedition. At the top there are erratic rocks and a private shelter with the same name - Wysoki Kamie艅.

Anyone who reaches the summit of Wysoki Kamie艅 can enjoy a wonderful panorama of the Jizera Mountains, the Jelenia G贸ra Valley, the Karkonosze Mountains, Rudawa Janowicka and the Kaczawskie Foothills. The most convenient way to get to the mountain is from the center of Szklarska, following the red trail (1.5 hours) or from Zakr臋t 艢mierci along the yellow trail (45 minutes).

The first mountain shelter in this place stood in the first half of the 19th century - in 1837, the Schaffgotsch family from 艢wierad贸w-Zdr贸j ordered the construction of a wooden building for tourists. Similar to the one built in 艢nie偶ne Kot艂y. At one time, the High Stone was visited by Frederick William IV himself, the reigning King of Prussia. To make this corner of the Jizera Mountains even more attractive, in 1875 an observation tower was built next to the shelter.

Unfortunately, in 1882 the shelter burned down completely, and Wysoki Kamie艅 began a period of further modernization, destruction and reconstruction. In 1996, the Go艂b family from Szklarska Por臋ba purchased the devastated area around the mountain peak in a tender. Soon, the first cleaning works and the painstaking construction of the new Wysoki Kamie艅 shelter began.
